Choosing the right foundation

When choosing the right foundation, know your skin type, normal, dry, oily, combination. Foundation should be used to bring out your natural beauty and even out skin tone, it should look as if your not wearing any foundation at all but look better than it did without any makeup.
For oily skin: oil free cream foundation is good for someone with large pores and acne something I recommend for teenagers. An oil free powder compact is easy to apply and great for those mid day touch ups. If you really like liquid foundation then only use the oil free ones. If you can, then I would avoid liquid for everyday use. Using the HD oil free liquid foundations for photos are great, you can deslick as necessary and it brings out a great look for photos. Mineral powders are great if you have very oily skin but the oil can change the color of the powder so be careful when choosing your shade and adjust as necessary.
For normal skin: you can choose to use a tinted moisturizer, oil free cream foundation and stick foundation which is the best for photos and can be used with any skin type EXCEPT OILY.
For dry to extra dry skin: tinted face balm leaves the skin with a dewy finish, liquid foundation or a moisturizing compact
For combination skin: whipped foundation and oil free liquid foundation.

CHOOSING YOUR SHADE:
When choosing the right shade, it should disappear on your skin and always test it in natural light. Your foundation should have a yellow undertone to it, if you sunburn extremely easily even if you are under a shaded area you are probably one of the few people who need a pink undertone foundation. Wipe a shade from the middle of your cheek down to your jaw line. Do the same with a darker and lighter shade next to it to compare. Again the correct color should disappear. Once you think you have the right shade check it on your forehead, some woman will be darker on the forehead than the rest of the face.  Whichever shade matches your forehead will be the best one to use for your entire face.
I really hope this helps you, I hope I didn't confuse you in anyway. If you have any questions I will be more than happy to answer them.
